What's New?

NEW(ish) info for IN-PERSON selling:

1) You may list up to 350 items for kids!  Only 200 of those may be hanging clothing and those must be priced at There is a $4 minimum price for the entire sale except . . .  ($2.50 minimum price for books & accessories)

2) BUT--If you mark everything with the "D" for donate, you may  shop with a friend one hour before sellers who don't donate their unsold items. (2 peeps at 4:30 instead of 5:30!)

3) The "50 hanging items in sizes 0-18 months" limit has been relaxed! You may now bring 50 girl items AND 50 boy items instead of just 50 total.

4) Sort & pick-up  IS  a bit different but we WILL STILL PRESORT your clothing into size and category for you!

5)  Junior clothing is now called Teen Girls. Please note the new guidelines. You are limited to 30 pieces and we will brutally inspect them.

6) We've streamlined our drop-off procedures and it will go FAST. Pick-up will take a bit longer because we will check every item before you leave to make sure it's yours.

7) Maternity clothing and bedding of all sizes are no longer accepted at the in-person event. 

8) We are hiring! Seriously. We will pay you to shop first. Check out the "Join Us" page for info.

9) You can keep 72% of your sales (instead of 65%) if you choose to accept your proceeds on our new Sail Again gift card!  This. Is. Epic. Y'all!!

10) Sellers always shop before the public but now, they may purchase a shopping upgrade for Tuesday night shopping and shop on the same night as our staff!

11) Our new ambassador program let's you earn 5% by mentoring new sellers.

Finally,decide WHEN  you want to shop!​​

All our Sailors have a chance to shop FIRST before the public. The first public shopping time is Wednesday night at 6:30 at our Shop Like a Sailor PreSail. Anyone shopping before that is by definition,  one of our sellers or part of our crew. Nearly all of the Wednesday shopping times admit 2 people, while Tuesday shopping tickets typically admit only one.

  • This helps our charities and so many families in the community 
  • It helps the Sail because sort & pick up is easier for everyone 
  •  It helps you because you get to shop earlier, have increased item limits and don't have to come back for pick up!

  • Pay a $15 registration fee and only a 28% commission
  • Keep 72% of your sales.
  • TWO tickets to shop Wednesday at 5:30 pm

  • Roll-over your proceeds  for future shopping credit! Earn 7% more and have next season's shopping already paid for!

  • It helps the Sail because we don't have to stop to get food and also eat it!
  • Our food manager will coordinate with you

  • Sign up via the crew schedule and tell us that you want to be a Sailmaker! 
  • Commit to at least 16 hours and up to 70 (over 2 weeks) We'll pay you $30 for every 4 hour shift!   
  • Plus, get $15 off your shopping tab! 
  • Shop  at our staff party Tuesday night  at 6:30!  
  • Other cool stuff: Get 2 additional tickets to shop Wednesday at 3:00 with our Golden Ticket Holders. Higher limits, special name tags,  maybe a t-shirt,  special bags etc. will be available just for you. And, you can STACK all those things on top of each other if you choose to donate everything, help as a SailSharer and take your proceeds as a Sail credit!  ***Sailmakers who work  only 4 shifts shop Tuesday night at 6:30 pm. Sailmakers with fewer than 3 shifts shop  Wednesday at 1pm.
